Not Much Time to
Find a New Home!
Although
our County laws require that an abandoned pet be held for only THREE (3) to SEVEN (7) days, space and health permitting,
pets are given as long as possible to find a new owner. Through donations, the Paulding Humane
Society has been able to provide new cages and additional run areas for the County shelter. More room provides more
time for adoptions to take place. Unfortunately, time still runs out for too many.
Medical supplies for sick and injured animals and equipment not allowed in the
County budget are also provided through fundraising efforts and donations.
ADOPTION INFO
Adoption fees range from $50 to $100. Pricing depends on degree of veterinarian work completed,
prior to adoption, such as rabies shot, spay - neuter. Microchip and First Distemper Shot included.
$100
adoption fee applies to UNALTERED purebreeds. This includes the spay/neuter, along with the microchip, first distemper shot and rabies shot. The spay
or neuter will be performed before the pet leaves the shelter.

ARTIST DONATING TO HUMANE SOCIETY
Artist, Susan Calvert, is currently holding charity auctions of her prints on eBay.
The auctions are benefiting the Paulding Humane Society located in Dallas, GA.
Calvert’s paintings, colorful images of feline and canine life, are universal symbols for all cats and dogs.
They capture the spirit of our beloved animal companions.
Calvert’s
prints sell for $40 each at shows. Her eBay auctions are starting at $24.99 each. Calvert is donating $5 or 20%
(whichever is greater) from her auctions to the Paulding Humane Society.
Visit http://www.eBay.com and enter “Susan Calvert” in the search box to help raise funds.
Calvert’s art has appeared in several publications
including Animal Fair and Country Sampler magazines and on the covers of Chicagoland Tails magazine and the Chicagoland Family
Pet Expo program. She was awarded first place during the 16th Annual Contemporary Dog Art Competition in New York City
for her painting entitled “Shortstop”.

The Paulding Humane
Society assists with emergency medical needs of pet owners in our community when veterinary care cannot be afforded.
An unexpected injury of a beloved pet can be both traumatic and financially draining. Most vets expect payment upon
treatment and will not accept payments. That is where we step in and help with expenses.
Many times pets arrive at the shelter needing emergency veterinary care.
Without our support, there would be no other alternative but to euthanize these pets.
One of the most important areas our Medical Fund is able to help are those pets coming into the shelter sick and
injured. Through your monetary donations, deserving pets just like Tia can be saved.
Tia, a sweet-spirited
Sheltie, was abandoned on the Silver Comet Trail by her owner. She was suffering from a severe ear infection gone untreated
that had left her in excruciating pain and deaf.
A call was received and Tia was picked up by the Paulding
Animal Control Officer. She was brought into the shelter, assessed and immediately taken to the vet where she received
emergency treatment and pain meds. It was determined that surgery would be required to correct her badly damaged ear
canals.
Today Tia has recovered and is living in her new home with caring owners, never to be abandoned again.
She is only one of many whose story has had a happy ending thanks to your support of our Medical Fund.
